Trotlings
Your steps grow a little friend
A step-tracking app that transforms your daily walks into a creature that hatches and grows on your home screen, lock screen and Apple Watch. Walk with friends
About
Trotlings is a lifestyle app that turns your daily steps into a small creature that hatches from an egg and grows as you walk. The creature lives on your home screen, lock screen and Apple Watch, letting you see how your day is progressing at a glance.
You can start a herd with up to three friends to walk together toward one weekly step goal, with no rankings or competitive pressure. Friends join by link or six-letter code without signing in or paying. The app reads your step count from Apple Health and includes a daily free lucky box with cosmetics that you earn through walking.
Trotlings Plus is a subscription offering larger herds and additional features. The app is available for free with optional paid subscriptions and one-time purchases.

Quick answers
- Why does Trotlings ask to read my steps?
- Your steps are what hatch your egg and grow your creature, so Trotlings asks for permission to read your step count from Apple Health. It asks for steps and nothing else. Your step count is read on your phone and is never sent to analytics or ranked.
- What if I miss a day, or need to rest?
- Rest days are part of the walk with no streaks to lose and nothing to feel bad about. Your creature keeps what it has grown and waits for you. Rest days count toward your weekly flower too.
- Does it work on Apple Watch?
- Yes. Your creature can live on your Apple Watch face and you can open the Trotlings app on your wrist. Free gives you the basic Watch look while Plus adds more styles.
- How do I start a herd and invite friends?
- Open the Herd tab, start a herd, and share the invite by link or six-letter code. A free herd holds four people including you, eight if the person who started it has Plus or if the herd has a Herd Pass.
- What does Trotlings Plus add?
- Plus adds herds of up to eight people, more than one herd of your own, the herd widget for everyone in your herd, extra widget and Watch styles, full step and herd history, and a free Plus Pick every month.
