Postural is an iPhone app that measures posture from two photos—one front and one side view—using Apple's Vision framework. It scores your posture as a single trackable number called Postural Age, which combines your chronological age with years added by two biomechanical markers: forward head posture (up to 6 years) and lateral head tilt (up to 2 years), for a maximum penalty of 8 years.
After each scan, the app builds a personalized daily routine from a library of 28 exercises, selecting movements that target your weakest markers. The routine adapts after every scan to follow your current posture. Postural also measures three additional markers—sagittal alignment, shoulder symmetry, and rounded shoulders—and displays them without scoring them, with transparent explanations for each.
All photos are stored only on your device, flagged to exclude them from iCloud backup. Scan scores and routines are synced to your account via Firebase, but images are never uploaded. The app uses a rolling average of your last three scans to smooth measurement variance and only calls changes "real" after 28 days of consistent use.

- Are my posture photos uploaded anywhere?

- When will I see real improvement?

- After each scan, Postural looks at which markers cost you the most years and selects matching movements from a library of 28 curated stretches and strengthening exercises, each with a video demonstration. The routine is reassembled after every scan to follow your posture rather than running a fixed plan.
- How accurate is the scan?
- Postural uses Apple's Vision framework for 2D body pose detection, reading 13 landmarks and taking the median across 12 frames per view to damp out jitter. It cannot see depth, rotation, or muscle tone, because it works from a photograph rather than a 3D scan. Lighting, how you're framed, and what you're wearing all affect the reading, which is why the app walks you through setup and refuses to score a capture where you drifted. Treat it as a consistent trend across time, not an absolute measurement.
