Only a display name (a nickname is fine), an age group, a 4-number PIN (stored scrambled) and an avatar picture. Kids never type an email, password or anything personal. Optional chore photos are private to your family and deleted when you remove the kid or your family.

Is it COPPA compliant?

Children's Chore was built around COPPA from day one. A parent creates the account, verifies their email and gives explicit consent before any child profile can exist. There are no third-party trackers or ads anywhere, and families can delete everything in one tap.

My kids don't have phones. Can they still use it?

Yes. You can put a family tablet on the fridge in kiosk mode where kids tap their picture and type a PIN, or print a QR code for each kid to scan. You can also mark chores done for them from your phone.

What happens if we go on vacation or have shared custody?

You can pause everyone or one kid with one tap, and for shared custody you can set a week-on/week-off calendar so chores only appear on the days a kid is with you. Streaks are never broken by a pause.
