How badges and links work on your listing
What the badge does, when your link is followed, and how we check it stays in place.

Your badge on your website
Every listing can display our badge. Go to your listing's badge page to pick a design (shape, colour, size), then copy the HTML snippet provided. The badge links back to your listing here.
Publishing your free listing
Free listings only join the queue, and so go live, once we detect the badge on your website. Your founder profile must be complete as well before a free listing goes live. We scan for it automatically and revisit every 7 days. If the badge is removed, your listing moves back to "waiting for badge" and we send you notice. Add it back and the listing publishes again at once—no manual step needed.
Link status: nofollow or dofollow
Your badge link begins as nofollow. Our system checks it live and may upgrade it to dofollow if two conditions hold:
- Your site's Domain Rating (Ahrefs) reaches 20 or above
- Our spam checks clear
If either condition is not met, the link stays nofollow. Paid launches receive a dofollow link directly on the listing page; free listings get a nofollow link.
Earned badges
Other badges—Launch of the Week, Launched, Verified—appear on your listing automatically when you qualify. These are not customisable and need no action from you. A Featured badge is bought with a paid Featured period; it is not won.
Questions people ask
- Why is my free listing not showing yet?
- Free listings publish only once we find the badge on your website. Your founder profile must be complete as well before a free listing goes live. Check your badge page, copy the code, add it to your site, then allow a few days for us to crawl and detect it.
- What happens if I remove the badge later?
- We re-check every 7 days. If it is gone, your listing goes back to "waiting for badge" and we email you. Place it back and it will be live again automatically.
- When does my link become dofollow?
- The badge link upgrades to dofollow if your Domain Rating (Ahrefs) is at least 20 and passes our spam checks. Otherwise it remains nofollow.
